Good news! Or, at least good news for those of you who keep having your packages swiped off your front porch!

FedEx reached out to us this week to say that they’re rolling out a system for physically scanning your ID at the door when you receive your mead. As far as we know, UPS is taking similar steps to come in-line with a Federal regulation, but we haven’t gotten confirmation on that.

Incidentally, this isn’t very different from what they were supposed to be doing all along, but then there was also this whole pandemic thing that happened the other day that threw a wrench into every policy we had in place on a local, national, or international level.

As far as we can tell, what this means for our beloved Meadiacs is that there won’t be any more flashing an ID through the window or finding a package sitting out in the rain when you get home from work.

Although this may be a minor inconvenience for some, we’re glad that FedEx is taking an extra step in their responsibility to protect minors from receiving alcohol and ensuring that the mead we ship out ends up with the correct people.

As always, if there are any issues, there’s only so much we can do about the workings of FedEx, but we’re always here to chat if you run into problems!
