Wild Hunt - Fall Seasonal Mead by Groennfell
As the thundering of the wild hunt approaches, mortals make their peace. And as the hooves recede into the distance for another year, the silence brings a time to appreciate the bounty of the harvest.
Wild Hunt is a balanced blend of honey, cranberry, blood orange, and spice brewed in honor of the ceremonial meads of 18th century Northern Europe.

The citrus hits immediately and almost in stereo as the tart orange and blood orange flavors provide unique and surprisingly distinct flavors. The sour flavor is strong and prominent. However, the finish has a hint of sweetness to it. This soft sweetness is a most welcome farewell as the flavor continues on its journey.
It was So dry and So tart. Really, it was everything I'd hoped it would be. However it did take what I was looking for and went a touch far with it for my taste. This is SO tart. Like, it definitely causes that pucker face on the first sip or two until you realize what you're getting into. Maybe it's less tart at room temp... I should have tried that before writing this review... I've been drinking it chilled with just a splash of cran raspberry juice to ease up on the pucker. Once your palette adjusts, though, it really is just a nice, light, not-at-all sweet drink. Which is what I was looking for! I like that it came with cocktail recipes because it made me feel like I had permission to add other things to the drink to make it what I want.
This stuff is hands down the best mead i have had. I'm totally hooked in it. Last year was my first time trying it and it was AT THE END OF THE SEASON!!! Got myself and my Pal, Matt all addicted to the flavor, it to have it vanish!! BUT now it's back, wit that bold cranberry and blood orange flavor with a hint of spice....So good. Ima stock up this time!!!
Honestly, it was better than I expected. I can taste a lot more of the cranberry than the spiced blood orange. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. It gives it a tartness that I enjoy. Wild Hunt has bubbles almost like a champagne but once settled in the horn it becomes so smooth and crisp. Worthy for Odin’s hall.
