Ricky's Mead Brew Journal - Week of 5/30 - Fancy Wood

These are all of Ricky’s actual notes on our meadery operation and the mead we make. There might be profanity, usually of the late 19th Century variety. The only redactions are to remove the names of people and businesses when deemed appropriate. Footnotes provided by Jess and Kelly.

On the subject of condensation, we should probably use wooden pallets during the summer for better airflow.

I put a much fancier piece of wood in the depal. Inset machine screws, the works! Fingers crossed.
Much fancier wood on the depal, these mead cans look like they're at a rave

New mod to depal has it running at 100%!

Machine started taking bites out of cans. Did everything I could on the indexer. This is beyond my power to heal. I'll take it as a sign that I should possibly take my birthday off each year.

Jake fixed the indexer in 55 seconds. Needed grease.

Also found the root of the foaming issue on filler three! Small slice where the tube attaches to the dip.

Note to self and all brewers: grease everything when you get the gun out. There's no reason not to.

Now that’s what I call a vigorous fermentation! This should be Valkyrie's Choice within a week or so.
It's less than two gallons, but it looks like a lot more
