These are all of Ricky’s actual notes on our meadery operation and the mead we make. There might be profanity, usually of the late 19th Century variety. The only redactions are to remove the names of people and businesses when deemed appropriate. Footnotes provided by Jess and Kelly.

Starting the big brewhouse cleanup and prepping for canning. I hope I don’t run out of can ends over the next week.
8/2
Major improvements on the can slippage front, but when one does get through it’s a DOOZY. Also, still having slipsheet dragging issues.
Figured out the hangup on the CIP machine. It’s the flat bottom on the brite. It took about an hour to figure out why my return rate was… lackluster. Going to attempt cleaning five tanks tomorrow.

Brewed Draki, Shieldmaiden, and Varangian for the first time! It was a very exciting day. I never get to brew three new types of mead all at once! Also got four tanks cleaned in sequence with a new CIP setup. Still getting air entrainement, so I may look into an air lock (or whatever they’re called) for each end.

The Hunt is on! Also, VC.
Andrew is here!

No fermentation on Wild Hunt for some reason. I’ll hit it with fresh QA23 and see what happens.
Mid-day update: It took off like a shot! 14 hour lag, but it’s super obvious from the BrewMonitor that it was just going through a reproduction stage.
